“You know, I grew up on a ranch.” She said smiling and nibbled on her sandwich.
“I did not know that.” He shook his head, surprised and stared out at a pack of wild horses on the field rubbing against one another. He sighed, “It must had been wonderful there, with space for the animals to roam and be happy.” As he squeezed the plastic wrapper that once held his sandwich in his hand, he began to hum Home on the Range.
Softly, she sang, “Give me a home where the buffalo roam, where the deer and the antelope play…”
